Deb and Bill Edmondson came to Christ through the ministry of CBF while attending the University of Northern Iowa.

Deb grew up in a very moral home, but did not receive Christ as her Savior until a freshman in college. A classmate introduced the Gospel to her by first pointing out that the complexity of nature demanded that there be a designer behind it. As Deb showed interest in the conversation, he explained this designer was a personal God, who could be known through the saving work of Christ. On a bench outside a science classroom building, in the middle of campus, Deb placed her trust in Christ.

Bill first became concerned about the things of God as a young boy, while camping under the stars with his family.

Questions such as, "Where do the stars come from? What is beyond them? What is life all about?", flooded his soul and were not resolved until the fall of 1975. After listening to the testimonies of many students and upon finishing a Gospel of John Bible study on salvation, Bill placed his trust in Christ.

Together Bill and Deb have ministered first with CBF at the University of Notre Dame, later as pastor and wife, followed by four years with Bill teaching local church ministries at a Bible college. God used all those experiences over twenty years to prepare them for their present ministry, working with the international academic community of Boston. Boston has 65 major institutions of higher learning, with some of the highest concentrations of internationals anywhere in the country.

The Edmondsons are approaching ministry differently in Boston than they have elsewhere. There was no Bible-believing, separated church in Boston when they arrived. Their first goal had to be to start a church in the international academic community. The second goal is to follow up on the students who come to know the Lord, as they travel back home, and help them start their own church in their home countries.

After two years in Boston, the work is progressing. A church, named International Baptist Church, had its first year anniversary in January. The church is made up of folks who have a burden to reach the world in Boston.

In order to make them accessible to the international community, the Edmondsons desired to purchase and renovate a ministry home close to the subway system. God has answered prayer! After an exhausting eight month renovation project, the Edmondsons now live within a subway ride of the major universities of Boston.

Another part of the plan is to see Bible studies start on four major campuses; Northeastern Univ., MIT, Boston University, and Harvard. The Lord continues to provide contacts with students there. As many people pray, the Edmondsons look to God to bless their efforts, and bring results in that part of the ministry, as well.
