Remember

"Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD! Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore! Remember His marvelous works which He has done." Psalm 105:1-5 NKJV

Remembering is a good thing, especially when you are a college student cramming for your final exams!

Remembering is also important in the lives of God's people. In the Old Testament, we read of the history of the people of Israel. God commanded the Israelites to "remember" what He had done for them and to "rehearse" His works before the children daily, so that they would not forget what God had done. With obedience came blessing, disobedience brought consequences. Unfortunately, the Israelites did not remember, and their memory loss resulted in bad decisions and bad lifestyle choices (read Psalm 106).

Let us remember this holiday season that Jesus is the reason for Christmas and let us remember to "make known His deeds among the people." Let us also remember that we have the privilege to proclaim this good news of the Lord Jesus Christ to the students on the secular college campuses around the United States.

It is also time to remember what God has accomplished this past year on the college campuses through Campus Bible Fellowship staff and the STUDENTS, who are our co-workers in the Lord. The CBF staff could not do all that we do if it were not for the students who collaborate with us to reach other students for Christ on the campuses.

As we remember and give praise to the Lord for all He has done in the past year, let us remember to continue to look to Him in the New Year of 2007 for His blessings. Let us remember to speak of all His wondrous works, giving Him the glory and honor and praise for what He has done, and what He will do through us, for His name's sake. Let us renew our commitment to do more for the Lord this year and accomplish great things on our campus mission fields, things that have no other explanation than that God has done it. And let us not forget to remember.
