Testimony for Jessica Jackson
I accepted Christ at age four. Although I was young, I understood that my sin separated me from God, both in this life and in life after death. I realized that the only way to go to heaven and have a personal relationship with Jesus on earth was to repent of my sin and place my faith in Christ. Believing that He died and rose from the grave to pay the debt my sin had incurred, I asked Him in faith to save me. I cannot imagine life without my Jesus.
My involvement with Campus Bible Fellowship began not during my undergraduate years, but rather during my first year of graduate school. In March 2007, I took a spring break trip with CBF, a previously unknown group to me. During that week, God began softening my straying heart and showing me that I needed to be much more dedicated to His purposes of ministry than to my personal goals for life. I am so thankful He gave me that chance to be isolated from all I knew so that He could speak to me in a unique way. I was very impressed by the love for Christ I saw in my new friends and I desired that same love to be seen in me.
I have since become very involved with CBF, serving as social coordinator of the Toledo chapter for the 2007-2008 school year. We have been privileged to see God working through our humanness. One student accepted Christ on our second week and has been faithfully attending both CBF and Emmanuel, the supporting church, since that night. It has been such a blessing to be part of her discipleship and watch her grow in faith. Forming friendships with students and observing them grow closer to Christ has been a fantastic experience. I am looking forward to God continuing to work throughout this year, both in the lives of University of Toledo undergrads and in my own life.
