Testimony for John Dennis

Hello, my name is John Dennis Jr. I am a senior at West Chester University, in Pennsylvania. Four years ago I believed that I knew everything about religion, although my lifestyle and attitude did not reflect that. Then a man named John Caputo from Campus Bible Fellowship approached me in my dorm room and asked me two simple questions: “Do you know for sure if you would die today that you’d go to heaven?” The next was “What do you think it takes to get to heaven?” After I answered both these questions with what I thought to be pretty good answers, John opened the Bible and quickly showed me that according to the Word of God, I was not even close.

From here John took the time to minister to me one-on-one and helped to open my eyes to the Bible. Well, in the spring of 1998, I was saved. I turned my life over to God and humbled myself before Him and admitted I was a sinner and that only He could give me the gift of eternal life.

The road was not easy from there. I had to deal with not being a part of what was considered the normal life for a college student. I had a long way to go before I was where I wanted to be as a Christian.

Campus Bible Fellowship has continued to provide a lot of outlets to help me grow as a Christian. Through my one-on-one Bible studies with John which began four years ago and continue to the present, I am continually growing in the Bible’s words of wisdom.

On Thursday nights I am provided with an opportunity to realize that I am not alone in my walk with God. Campus Bible Fellowship provides me with a Bible study at 8pm every Thursday and it provides me the opportunity to get together with other kids my age and talk, and learn, and glorify God. Also through Campus Bible Fellowship and the will of God I was provided with a Church service to go to on Sundays right in West Chester University. It is called Faith Baptist Church and it provides me with a great opportunity to worship God in the right way and show my faith in a community based setting. Ultimately God was the one that led me to salvation.

Campus Bible Fellowship also played a very important role in my growth as a Christian by taking the time to plant that seed and providing me with a numerous amount of ways to grow as a Christian.

Whenever I needed help as a new Christian, or even as I got older, Campus Bible Fellowship has been there to help me and guide me according to the Word of God. Now as a more mature Christian I can take what I have learned and what I will continue to learn, and do for people out there what Campus Bible Fellowship has done for me.
