Testimony for Karis
I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at the age of six. After a student in my kindergarten class announced that he had “gotten saved”, I asked my parents to explain what he meant and that evening my mother and father led me to the Lord using a salvation tract. Even though I was rather young, I understood that I had done many wrong things and that I couldn’t get to heaven on my own. I also knew that God loved me and sent His Son to die in my place so that I could be with Him someday.
As I grew up in church as well as attending a Christian school from kindergarten through my senior year of high school, going to college at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland was an extreme transition for me. Mary Amesbury and Campus Bible Fellowship made it easier to get used to the changes. I made many good friends at our Bible study meeting and through the support of this close group, my first year at college was a very enjoyable while sometimes difficult time of learning. One of my favorite aspects of Campus Bible Fellowship is the ministry opportunity that I had last year. Each Saturday we were able to go into inner-city Cleveland and do a Bible program for eight to twelve-year-olds. God used these children as well as the other members of CBF to teach me so much last year, and I am looking forward to being involved for years to come.
